With the new Forest Hills Target store opening along Austin Street on July 20, the company is holding a series of job fairs to fill 80 new positions.

The company is currently looking to fill general team member roles for all areas of the store, from cashier and stocking shelves to assisting guests in finding products.

The Forest Hills Target location will be one of six flexible-format locations opening this year in New York. According to a company spokesperson, the flexible-format locations are smaller, less traditional Target stores that are customized to meet the needs of the local population.

This includes selling locally relevant merchandise and carrying smaller sizes. For instance, rather than just selling a 12-pack of toilet paper, there will also be single rolls sold, which is meant to bring convenience to nearby residents.

“We look forward to hiring new and talented team members for our newest flexible-format store in Queens,” said Matthew Parry, the new location’s team leader. “The addition of this new store comes at a very exciting time for Target in the New York area, and we are thrilled to invest and serve guests in Forest Hills.”

The last job fair will be held at Queens Place Target at 88-01 Queens Boulevard in Elmhurst on Tuesday, May 31, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The job fair will consist of interviews and a discussion of Target’s culture.

For those interested, Target strongly encourages applying in advance at target.com/careers.
