The Kiwanis Club of Forest Hills will host its annual Breakfast with the Easter Bunny on Sunday, April 7, at Our Lady of Mercy Church’s Lower Hall.

“Children love this breakfast,” said Kiwanis member Joann Ciorciari. “They can’t believe they’re meeting the Easter Bunny and they go crazy for it. I would love to see everybody who has young children come to the event.”

The breakfast will be cooked by volunteers led by Acey Ducey’s owner Tim Ducey.

“Last year it was really nice to see the kids with their smiles, and they enjoy seeing the Easter Bunny and taking pictures,” said Kiwanis member Cesar Pallo. “It’s great to see all of the families together.”

Proceeds from the event benefit Our Lady of Mercy Church’s food pantry, as well as the annual Memorial Day Parade.

Additionally, the club will donate a portion of the proceeds to Best Friends Animal Society, a nonprofit dedicated to promoting pet adoption, no-kill animal rescues, and spaying and neutering.

The donation is in honor of member Nancy Intagliata’s nephew, Thomas, who recently passed away from Leukemia at the age of 23.

“What really helped Thomas were animals,” Intagliata said. “Service dogs would come to the hospital and he just really loved them. We thought it would be nice to do something like this in his name.”

This year’s breakfast will take place from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Our Lady of Mercy Church Lower Hall at 70-01 Kessel Street. Enter using the staircase on Juno Street or take the elevator located between the church and rectory on Kessel Street.

Tickets are $8 per adult, $5 per senior, and children under 13 years are $4
